Spring 2024

Daniela Loya-Rivera, Senior in Exercise Science (UROP Scholar)

Daniela Loya-Rivera is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science on the Motor and Rehabilitation Track. She is passionate about working with the elderly community to achieve a sense of independence through improvement in their overall health. In the future, she plans to attend graduate school and become an Occupational Therapist. During her free time, Daniela enjoys volunteering in her community, crocheting, baking, and spending time with her family. 

Fall 2023

Kelvin Mosoti, Senior in Public Health

Kelvin Mosoti is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. He is passionate about working with underserved communities to improve their quality of life and improve health outcomes. In the future, he plans to work in clinical research. IN his free time he enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, going to the trail, and attending sporting events with his friends.

Denise Ramirez, Senior in Public Health

Denise Ramirez is a senior student at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Denise’s focus is on tackling chronic illness in the community. Upon graduation she hopes to become a member of an oncology research team but ultimately her goal is to return to college to pursue her master’s degree in public health and become an epidemiologist. Her hobbies include running, hiking and she enjoys listening to crime podcasts.

Spring 2023

Selena Falcon, Senior in Public Health

Selena Falcon is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. She is passionate about working with people of color, underserved communities, and vulnerable populations in hopes of improving their quality of life. She is also passionate about behavioral science in research, and how certain factors influence a person’s lifestyle and overall health. In the future, she hopes to work in clinical research, or in the field of surgery and transplantation within healthcare. Outside of school, Selena loves to dance, paint, travel, and spend time with friends and family. 

Joshua Brady, Senior in Public Health

Joshua Brady is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. Joshua is passionate about encouraging healthy lifestyles and improving the quality of life. In the future, he plans to work in clinical research. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball, going on trails, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. 

Summer 2022

Sera Roji, Junior in Exercise Science

Sera Roji is a junior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She is enthusiastic about promoting balanced lifestyles in young populations through exercise and health management. In her free time, she loves to read, watch movies, and hike. In the future, she hopes to work in rehabilitation, either in Physical Therapy or Orthotics.  

Riley Wiland, Junior in Psychology (McNair Scholar)

Riley Wiland is a Junior majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Clinical Psychology and English.  She is passionate about helping people of color and hopes to institutionalized regulations against racial and gender bias in the medical field. After Riley receives her undergraduate degree, she plans on furthering her education as a Psychology graduate student. Outside of studying, Riley likes to read, bake, and embroidery.    

Spring 2022

Alina Choudry, Senior in Public Health

My name is Alina Choudry, and I am a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. I am passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and promoting the welfare of an entire community ensuring protection from the spread of infectious diseases. After finishing undergraduate, I plan to enroll in a healthcare administration master’s program to make improvements within the healthcare administration industry and make a positive difference in patient outcomes to get high-quality healthcare. In my free time I love to travel to different countries and spend time with my friends and family.  

Fall 2021

Hannah Affleck, Senior in Public Health

Hannah Affleck is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. She is passionate about working with underserved communities to improve their quality of life and improve health outcomes. When she is not doing schoolwork, she loves photography, painting, and spending time with friends and family. After finishing undergrad, Hannah plans to enroll in the Public Health Masters program with a focus in Epidemiology. In the future she hopes to work as an infectious disease specialist and possibly pursue a Ph.D. 

Ana Pache, Senior in Public Health

Ana Pache is a Senior in the Public Health Major at UTA. She is passionate about serving the needs in her community and hopes to create sustainable change to improve the quality of life in underserved communities. In the future, she hopes to work with infectious diseases in Epidemiology, or in the field of Emergency Management. For now, she enjoys traveling, serving at her church, and spending time with her family.

Leona Veseli, Senior in Public Health

Leona Veseli is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. She is focused on improving and adapting healthcare policies that can improve the quality of healthcare within her community. In the future, Leona hopes to work in Health Management or focus on improving Maternal health along with Nutrition. In her free time, she likes to travel, read, and spend time with family.

Spring 2021

Chidera Anih, Senior in Public Health

Chidera Anih is a senior at the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health. She admires the aspect of public health that focuses on improving the health of communities through the promotion of healthy lifestyles. In the future, Chidera plans to further her education in Public Health as a graduate student at UTA, specifically focusing on Epidemiology.

Fall 2020

Mindy Vo, Senior in Public Health

Mindy Vo is a graduating senior at UTA with a degree in BSPH. She has a passion for helping others and is excited to serve her community when she graduates. She hopes to pursue a career surrounding Health Administration when her time at UTA is finished. When she is not doing school work she loves to be outdoors and traveling.
