Najmeh Ghalamsiah, Integrative and Applied Physiology

Najmeh is a PhD student in Exercise Physiology at UTA who joined the PAWS lab in August 2024 with a strong focus on improving the quality of life for cancer survivors. With a master’s degree in sports physiology, she brings a deep understanding of the role of physical activity in health and well-being. her research is centered around developing and implementing exercise interventions that address the unique challenges cancer survivors face. As a research assistant in a dedicated cancer survivors lab, she works on interdisciplinary projects that enhance survivorship care through evidence-based practices.

Anita On, Public Health

Anita On is a PhD student in Kinesiology on the Public Heath track and joined the PAWS lab in August 2024. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. She has spent the past six years in health equity research (two of which were full-time) and has facilitated projects involving physical activity, nutrition, and mental health in underserved populations across the lifespan. Anita is interested in community-engaged, health-equity focused research that addresses cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic diseases from an individual and environmental level. Outside of research, you can find Anita at the gym, caring for her 30+ plants at home, or enjoying delicious food and boba.
